Vyond Example: Behavioral Economics for Instructional Design

Description of Project

Teaching abstract concepts to promote understanding can be challenging but is an area where animation and new e-learning technology offers great promise for the future. My intent with this video was for it be very appealing and fun to watch.

This video was designed for an instructional design audience, but is broadly applicable to anyone interested in learning about behavioral economics and how it differs from traditional economics. Please note this is not the full video. This excerpt starts about a minute into the action and fades out after a few minutes.

The script, concept, and learning objectives for this project were created by me, but the source material that was used to conduct research for this project comes from works and research by Dan Kahneman, Amos Tversky, Dan Ariely, Jonathan Haidt, & Richard Thaler. I wrote the script, recorded and edited that script in Audacity, designed the animation using Vyond to make the introduction engaging, and assembled the final video in Camtasia.
